The SEEK II Quad Reader is a small package with large capabilities. Adding just a few inches and several ounces to the SEEK II platform, the Quad Reader is easy to connect and disconnect yet solidly mounted to ensure single-handed operation. It features a USB 2.0 connection to SEEK II while still passing through two USB ports for expansion use. The Quad Reader package is designed to IP54 levels, the highest possible when implementing credential reading. Best of all, it mounts integrally without impacting the integrity of the IP65 ruggedness and seal of the SEEK II.
The Quad Reader includes a single slide channel designed to read magneticstripe cards on one side and MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) codes on the other. The magnetic stripe reader enables reading of AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators) codes on drivers’ licenses and the MRZ reader captures personal biographic data from passports, visas, and travel documents created to ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) standards. The two chip readers, contact and contactless, read a wide variety of credentials including ePassports, national identity cards, and Personal Identity Verification or PIV-style access cards (including TWIC, Transportation Worker Identification Credential, and CAC, Common Access Cards). Together, the capabilities of the Quad Reader enable the reading and validation of most identification cards in use globally today.
